Here are some pics from Brooke's 1st days home...

Home and Happy (:

We have been home for 2 nights now, and things are going GREAT!! Brooke was wonderful during her 1st car ride, home from the hospital...no tears at ALL! She has been so sweet at night, only waking to eat. She is a great little eater, and Mommy is really enjoying the bonding. Please come visit us! Brooke has enjoyed all of her visitors, and all the extra love!
This is Brooke in her coming home outfit...just before we left the hospital!

Due date has come and gone...

Our due date arrived with very high hopes...but has since, come and gone. The baby did not want to come on June 22nd...so after counting down to that day for what seems like forever, we couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. We visited the doctor around 3 in the afternoon, and found out there hasn't been much progression. We are tentatively scheduled for an induction on the morning of June 29th. That is of course, if the baby does not come on it's own, before then, which of course, would be ideal! Please pray for us!

Rough afternoon...

Well, we had another doctor's appointment this afternoon. I was pretty apprehensive, because another doctor was meeting with us, as my doc is still on vacation...so...
The nurse came in to check my vitals and said my blood pressure was high. This happened last week, but by the end of the appt. it was fine; which is what I told her. I tend to get nervous and anxious when I first get there, and then I calm down. Anyway, we had to wait to see the fill-in doctor, for almost an hour--he obviously has his hands full with all of his own patients AND my doctor's patients. By the time he came in, I was pretty nerve racked and tired of waiting...so, he did his "check" only to reveal that there has been NO change!! I am still only a cm dilated--obviously, Baby doesn't want to make it's debut this week...the doctor did say though, that the baby is about 6 lbs. This makes me happy!! It's not too big!
Upon checking my BP again, the nurse said it was even higher than before. So, not wanting to take any chances, the doctor sent me to the hospital to be monitored, and have some blood work done. Obviously, that was good for the blood pressure! I hate needles! Brad and I were admitted right away. I had to get into a gown and get hooked up to all kind of monitoring devices...fun stuff. Then, they took my blood--and I TRIED to be a big girl about it--thank God, Brad was there...he made me laugh the whole time, and really took my mind off of everything. He is going to be GREAT when I am actually IN LABOR. About 2 hours later, they released me, saying that everything looks just fine.
So, no news, no baby...we will be in touch!

Update...or lack there of...

Well, we had a check-up again this morning, and are still only at 1cm. No change, which is fine, as long as the baby is happy, healthy, head down, and not too big! At this point it is all of those, which is a blessing! Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. Having the baby on it's due date (June 22) would be ideal, as Dr. Barcio is going to be in and out until then, on vacation. Not to worry, she has left us in very good hands, in case the baby wants to come sooner...but, I would still like HER to deliver this baby. I have a very good chance of delivering LATE, rather than early. My mom was always at least a few days late, as was my sister. My doctor says this is a pretty good indicator for me, but we can never be sure. I will let you know more, when I do. I know it's in God's hands...

summer has officially begun...

Well, I am officially done with school...I wrapped up inservice yesterday, and today was my 1st full day at home. I am feeling a little bit sad at saying my goodbyes to teaching and my friends at Trinity...but I will see everyone at church, which is what makes Lutheran teaching such a blessing. I kept very busy all day today. I had an OBGYN check up this morning; I am 1 cm dilated. That could mean anything, so I am just making sure I am ready to go at any given moment. I have all of the baby clothes washed, and the room is organized, the car seat dock is installed, and I am almost completely packed up for the hospital stay. Now, it's just a waiting game. Tomorrow, I am going to try and spend some time at the pool, and do some reading. These are the treasured activities of summers past, that I know I will miss, once Little Davis arrives. Although, life is going to be blessed in so many new ways, maybe I won't even notice.
Brad and I are SO excited! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. We will keep you posted!
